Transcriber

The first thing you need to know is that this application is not meant for regular users – it is meant for transcribers, professional transcribers to be more precise. The application has everything a transcriber could want: easy to use interface, support for hotkeys, built-in player, variable playback speed, multiple export options, and more.

Transcriber Pro is compatible with Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, and even Windows XP SP3. Please note that you need .NET Framework 4.0 or newer to run Transcriber Pro. If this necessary component is not available it will be installed automatically.

Install Transcriber Pro, launch the application and you will be presented with a window that allows you to open an existing document, lists recent documents, and allows you to create a new document. To create a new document you must enter a project name, pick a media file path, select a project folder, and optionally, create a multipart transcription.

Create a new document or open an existing document and you will be presented with Transcriber Pro’s user friendly interface. This is a ribbon interface that features two sections:
Tools – Autotext (automatic text replacement function), undo and redo, add timestamp, tag text, add speakers, set speaker.
Player – play/pause, skip backward or forward, adjust the volume, set the playback speed.

Hotkeys are supported by Transcriber Pro. You can check out the list from the Settings Menu, the Hotkeys tab. From the Settings menu you can also play with the aforementioned Autotext function.

Transcriber Pro is not free, it is only free to try. You can use the application for free for evaluation purposes for a limited period of time.

Transcriber Pro has all the bits and pieces that make it a must have tool for transcribers.
